ごくらく【極楽】

【仏教】 (the Buddhist) paradise; Paradise; Heaven; 《文》 the abode of the blessed; Elysium; 〔戯言的に〕 《口》 the happy hunting ground (in the sky); 〔無上の幸福〕 bliss; heaven.

●この世の極楽 (a) heaven on earth; an earthly paradise; an Eden.

●極楽に生まれる go to the Pure Land [Paradise, the abode of the blessed]; be reborn in Paradise
